Training Courses

At Stress In Perspective we are dedicated to providing the most effective training solutions by using committed, highly skilled  trainers with the ability to ‘get the message across’ whilst making the experience enjoyable and rewarding.  We consistently receive high evaluations from our courses. A typical response producing over 95% of delegates rating the content and the presenters as 'Very Good' or 'Excellent'.

We offer a wide range of training courses designed to help staff at all levels to manage stress.   Our current list of courses is shown below.  If required, all our courses can be run, exclusively for your organisation, on an in-house basis. 

 

Stress In Perspective: Risk Assessment and Management              

A two day course certificated by IOSH [The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health] - Europe’s leading body representing  health and safety professionals.                                                                                  

The course explores the meaning of the terms - ‘stress’, ‘lone working’, ‘violence at work’ – and, through discussion and practical exercises, reviews how they can be risk assessed and managed.

In view of the legal requirement to risk assess workplace stress  this innovative  course is designed to provide managers, occupational health personnel, safety representatives, and health and safety trainers with all the necessary skills. Once you have completed 'Stress In Perspective: Risk Assessment and Management' you will be eligible to enrol for a  three day follow up course enabling you to conduct effective stress awareness training for staff at all levels of your organisation and implement best practice on support for those staff exhibiting stress.

 

Becoming an Effective Stress Management Trainer                  

A  five day course, assessed and moderated by IOSH [The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health] - Europe’s leading body representing  health and safety professionals. 

With the level of concern about stress in the workplace  increasing dramatically in the last few years there is a growing need for suitably qualified trainers, teaching effective stress management training. 

This course is designed to provide delegates with a sound knowledge of stress and how they can most effectively deliver appropriate Stress Management training at any level of an organisation. The programme also explores the meaning of the terms ‘lone working’ and ‘violence at work’, and, through discussion and practical exercises, reviews how they, along with ‘stress’, can be risk assessed. Work-Related Stress: The Manager's Role                                   

A one day course certificated by IOSH [The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health] - Europe’s leading body representing  health and safety professionals. 

It is now recognised that managers have a very important role to play in the management of work-related stress.  This course reviews the actions managers can take: [a] to reduce stress amongst their staff, [b] to meet Health and Safety Executive requirements of best practice, and [c] to reduce their own stress levels. Managing change

This new one day programme concentrates on how changes in both the work environment and in our personal lives can be effectively managed. Highly interactive this course is designed to give participants new insights into the dynamics of change. It will equip them with simple tools to address some of the organisational and personal challenges they are currently facing. It will also help them to manage themselves and others throughout the different stages of the change process. Key points covered by the course include: The meaning of 'change management' / What drives change? / The challenges of managing change / Employee engagement / Being an effective communicator / Using non verbal communication / Facilitating difficult meetings / Risk assessing for change / A change management model / Understanding challenges / Generating effective solutions.

Stress Awareness 

Programmes to teach individual trainees what stress is and what they can do, as individuals, to both prevent stress and, where appropriate, manage it more effectively themselves.

Complementary Skills

We can provide courses for individuals and groups in complementary areas, for example:

Assertiveness   Learning to use assertive behaviour helps individuals to manage their responses and manage the stress produced by difficult situations.

Presentation skills   How to make speaking in public and giving presentations less stressful.

COPING WITH Redundancy    Coping strategies for handling the trauma of redundancy.

Time Management   Managing time effectively is fundamental to achieving goals and managing stress.
